Malaysian automobile manufacturer to initiate an assembly plant in India
A leading automobile manufacturer Naza Automotive Manufacturing Sdn Bhd plans to go international by opening up an assembly plant in Tamil Nadu. Discussions will be held between the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu,M Karunanidhi and a delegation to be led by Works Minister of Malaysia Datuk Seri S Samy Vellu. The meeting would include Naza Group of Companies Chairman Tan Sri SM Nasimuddin SM Amin in Chennai. The Malaysian Works Minister said that the discussion would swivel on the possibility of securing a land from the Tamil Nadu state government for the assembly plant.

Indian market to encompass a bike manufacturing plant
Japanese auto major Honda is considering establishing a bike manufacturing plant in the Indian market. The company plans to invest around US$ 417 million to build a new motorcycle plant in India by 2010. This would help Honda boost local production in the country to seven million bikes a year. This new plant is expected to have an annual capacity of 1.5 million motorcycles. Hero Honda will build the factory at a site near Haridwar in Northern India for Honda and this new unit would focus on manufacturing the 100cc motorcycles, which are hugely popular in the Indian market.

TCL India present a new range of LCD, Plasma and CTV
An emerging consumer electronics firm has launched a range of Plasma, LCD and CTV. The company also shared itsexpansion plans to reach out to its growing consumer-base across India. TCL India's Plasma TV category starts with 42" in two models. The LCD range starts from 15", 20", 27", 32" and 40" in five models in different categories. The RPT are available in two models 43" and 52" respectively, while the CRT range starts from 14"NF to 29"PF, all put together aggregating to more than 25 models in this segment. Richie Liu, MD, TCL India, said, "Our objective is to consolidate TCL's global leadership position, offer a diversified high-quality product range from basic to high-end innovative products and address all key markets competitively." CM Singh, VP - Sales and Marketing, TCL India, says, "We plan to focus on exclusive highend showrooms, which will be known as TCL Universe in major cities across the country, as a part of our expansion plans. TCL is geared to meet the need gaps of the consumers from all aspects centered around innovation, technology, price, style and after sales service."
