Chemtech Foundation, India's
leading industry association,
pioneered international
exhibitions and conferences and
has served the Indian chemical and
process industry since 1975.
Through the Chemtech series of
events, the foundation has
catalysed industrial growth by
creating a platform for strategic
alliances and foreign investments
in India. These expositions, world
class in stature and scope, have
served as a point for foreign and
Indian companies, central and state
government officials, research
institutions and academia. It
has offered a unique platform for
idea exchange.
According to Jasu Shah,
Chairman, Chemtech foundation,
"The Idea whose time has come in
India is innovation. This is not
stated because it sounds good but
innovation thrives in an
environment, which India is just
now witnessing to a great degree.
Competition, ambition, desire to be
in the top bracket worldwide as
well as ability and ambience for
creating innovation in India are in
abundant presence. While we are
still at very initial stages in our
search for great progress in
innovation and R&D, it is very clear
that India has embarked upon this
ambitious journey. It is equally
clear that we are capable of rising
to this challenge, this is particularly
enormously energising for the
nation because for many many
years we were controlled in many
ways in the economic field. This has
changed for the better, and I
believe better times are ahead for
greater reforms and greater
liberalisation, which will lead us to
attain the position of world
eminence according to our abilities
and our contributions. In 1975,
when the first Chemtech
International Exhibition and
Conference took place, we had said
that if Chemtech Conferences are
not the adventures off mind, then
they have failed in their chosen
task of opening many more
windows to the developments
both in India and around the world
to our people even when the doors
were closed for a kind of controlled
economy in India for many
decades. It is this search of keeping
the windows open, searching for
better ways, aiming for
continuously raising the bar as well
as be truly well connected to the
worldwide communities of our
served industries. It is also this
search, which compelled us to
change the charter of CHEMTECH
foundation - During the Silver
Jubilee year 2000 to
'Inspiring intelligence.Igniting
innovation,' - at Chemtech this is
not a fashion statement but a
true commitment."
The flagship event, Chemtech
World Expo - Asia's oldest and
largest chemical process
engineering expo has always
attracted the best in the business,
from all over the world. The
Chemtech World Expo 2007
focused on innovation. Some of
the brightest minds from India
and from many other parts of
the world presented at the
Chemtech conferences.
The response to this event was
overwhelming. This expo proved to
be one of its kinds, since it served
all stakeholders of the industry.
This event reflected the logical
migration from the chemical
process industry to pharma and
then to the life sciences industry.
Satwant Reddy, Secretary,
Department of Chemicals and
Petrochemicals, Government of
India said, "Chemtech +
Pharmatech World Expo 2007 has
excellent participation from many
countries and truly international in
nature. I congratulate Chemtech
for organising the mega event,
which is a world meet of experts in
the chemical process industries."
Dean Segal, Vice President of
POPE Scientific Inc, USA also
shared his views for the event, i.e.;
"Truly the no.1 and best
International event of India in terns
of both quality and management."
